Familia Martínez Zabala strengthens its commitment to culture with exhibitions by Carlos Albert and Marcos Tamargo
At Bodegas Portia (km 170 of the N-1, Gumiel de Izán, Burgos), sculptor Carlos Albert presents ‘Efluvio’, an exhibition in which he translates concepts linked to wine, such as aroma and textures, into the language of sculpture.
Through refined, geometric pieces, the artist explores the relationship between form, balance and space, in direct dialogue with the winery’s architecture, designed in collaboration with Foster & Partners.
The exhibition is integrated into different points along the winery tour, creating an experience in which art, light and architecture accompany visitors throughout their experience at Bodegas Portia, a space “BEYOND THE CONVENTIONAL” just 90 minutes from Madrid.
Meanwhile, Bodegas Campillo (Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa) is hosting a retrospective exhibition by artist Marcos Tamargo in its Campillo Creativo space, bringing together a selection of representative works from throughout his career. The exhibition includes pieces in which material, texture and colour take centre stage, as well as works created using his MoveArt technique, which introduces movement into painting and allows for different perceptions depending on the light or the viewer’s point of view.
Both exhibitions form part of the wineries’ wine tourism routes, consolidating these spaces as places where wine coexists with other artistic disciplines and offering visitors a more complete experience. Through this programme, Familia Martínez Zabala continues to develop a line of work that connects wine, architecture and culture, incorporating contemporary art as an essential part of the visitor experience.
